3D-printed snorkel adapters for hospitals

Zuyderland Hospitals

During the initial wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) led to various safety challenges at Zuyderland Hospitals. RRU collaborated with Zuyd University of Applied Sciences and other local partners, producing 300 adapter pieces within 72 hours during their most critical shortages.

These adapters transformed snorkel masks into PPE masks, aiding hospitals in carrying out their vital services to the community. The adapters were provided free of charge.
